Dumpster tells the story of Jim, a janitor at an elite university,
who discovers Francis, a wealthy frat boy, hiding in his dumpster.
Jim’s struggling to take on responsibilities at home and Francis
is struggling to overcome his roommate’s suicide and getting ‘dumped’ by
his girlfriend. Their meetings at the dumpster allow them to shed
their labels, find out how the other half lives, and bring them together
as they attempt to find themselves. And if that doesn’t quite
happen, at least they find some good stuff in the dumpster.

It’s Spring, 1959 and a year has passed since nine-year-old
Albert’s father disappeared in an avalanche. Albert, his mother,
and his tortoise “Ed” have moved from Canada to live
with Albert’s grandfather in northern California, yet Albert
remains an outsider and when Ed dies suddenly, Albert loses his only
friend. Determined that Ed have the “good send-off” that
his father never got, Albert induces Kevin, the neighborhood big
shot, to help him conduct the funeral by promising Kevin a non-existent
Willie Mays baseball card.
